Hi, I recently purchased a studio hybrid 2nd hand and it is coming without a power supply. I have not received it yet but will soon. I was wondering if anyone knows if the power adapter is just a standard laptop plug or is it something proprietary to only Dells? It appears to be a standard size plug from what I can tell in pictures, but I was wondering if someone who has a hybrid and a laptop if they could check? Or if you think you have any helpful information it would be appreciated.

I would like to order a power adapter so I may have one when the computer arrives as well, but I have a spare laptop power adapter that I think would work. I mean who want's to buy something when you have something else that may work right? Also if the 75w power rating on my laptop adapter is slightly higher than the 65w (i think) adapter that comes with the hybrid would it hurt/ harm anything? I would think not being that a person can put a 700w PS in a desktop when the pc doesn't require that much... it's just available power right? Thanks for any comments in advance.

Thanks for the link, but I could have sworn I read somewhere the power adapter was a different wattage. Any other info on any other type of adapters that work with it? I looked around and found a guy who was hooking it up in a car and he said he used 3 different types of generic 90w AC/DC power adapters and they all worked fine. He just made sure it had the #S34 tip which is the same that is on the hybrid itself apparently. Maybe I will need a higher wattage to make it run correctly. Surely I can buy one from Best Buy or something if I need it in a pinch.

Yes you can use a dell power supply for the hybrid. I have 3 different wattage ones from my Hybrid and my laptop (w/dock) they all work to power the Hybrid. The hybrid uses the smallest power supply coming in at a whopping 3.34 Amps, the laptop power supply is 4.62A, and the laptops dock power supply is 6.7A (dock needs more for the extra expansion ports).
