Dominion - Season 2
It was renewed for a 13-episode second season on September 25, 2014, which premiered on July 9, 2015, and concluded on October 1, 2015.[3][4] On October 13, 2015, Syfy cancelled Dominion after two seasons.[5]
Dominion - Season 2
Dominion has been met with mixed reviews. On Metacritic, the first season holds a score of 47 out of 100, based on 13 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.[29] On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season holds a rating of 74%.[30][clarification needed]
With Syfy's record of axing low-rated series early on, we just might be waiting to meet a corporeal Lucifer for all eternity. I'm not saying I wouldn't love a third season, mind you. As a matter of fact, I've mentioned several times in my reviews that Dominion deserves more time to tell its story. It's just that Syfy's record speaks for itself.
Claire deciding to face her father sealed her fate. Her line to Alex, "This is goodbye, isn't it?" was a dead giveaway. Though the character had an interesting arc this season, I can't help but be disappointed she was killed off. Her pregnancy seemed like such an important twist, but went nowhere. She and Alex appeared to be very much in love in the first season, yet it turned out he'd fallen in love with the treacherous Noma. Claire fell for Gates, only to lose him when he sacrificed himself to save Vega.
Arika and David shared some wonderful moments in the finale. Can you believe they both survived the season? I'm ready to visit Helena now, aren't you? Though William is "dead," he's the one character that experienced a supernatural event out in the desert. Part of me still wants to believe he'll be back. Is it possible he was a Dyad all along?
Alex's eulogy for Claire was gut-wrenching. Yes, Christopher Egan made my eyes water up. Such solid performances from every single cast member this season, right? Which reminds me, it was brilliant to get one final scene with Simon Merrells. I honestly believe he single-handedly helped elevate the series and made the actors around him want to step up their game.
I guess a taste of Lucifer was better than nothing. He looked pretty damn wicked too. Noma's white wings were absolutely gorgeous. Do you think Alex realized she had made an arrangement with Lucifer? If, no scratch that, when the third season renewal announcement comes it's going to be the twins against their big brother. That's right, Lucifer is our next big bad and if that's not reason enough for more Dominion, I don't know what is.
Not only did the cast bring their A game, but newcomer Gregg Simon directed the hell out of Dominion Season 2 Episode 11. Taking on the "Darkness" was no small feat, yet with all the madness going down the installment felt cohesive and riveting. The entire season's setup led to this moment and boy did each character's fears deliver the goods.
Gabriel's reaction was fantastic, "Well, that was rather quick. No matter, it's time." Sure, the amphora had been hyped all season, but I feel like it played its part well and I did not feel cheated in the end. Bring on that 8-ball army!
Season 2 is the second season of Dominion. It was announced on September 25, 2014 that the series was renewed for a second season, and will begin filming and airing in 2015.[1] It is said to be longer than the first, with a planned 13 episodes. The season premier will be July 9th, 2015.
The objective was to use the new and improved visual aesthetic of the show and its related assets, graphics and images, such as gorgeous photography, to convey the new tone of Season 2 and to get fans and new viewers to engage with the series on a different level than Season 1. The design of every element was deliberately rendered with a more artistic sensibility as a way of signaling the difference between the first and second seasons, both from the look and feel perspective as well as the energy of the action within the series, which was a departure from Season 1.
To help create excitement for the return of the series and then to keep momentum going as viewers became more invested during the run of the second season, we phased the rollout of our social campaign.
Part of the pre-premiere strategy was to encourage fans to re-watch the first season and new potential fans to sample and catch up. We started by repurposing and redesigning pieces from Syfy.com's interactive "Guide to Vega" from Season 1 to match the look and feel of the new season and be optimized for use on social platforms. Each piece of action-packed creative encouraged the audience to click through to catch up. We also created a Character Map to explain how all the characters were connected so fans could revisit their favorites and potential viewers could get familiar with the players.
In season, each day a new episode premiered, we released a highly designed Quote Leaks video that contained a line from that night's episode with a call to action for fans to guess who said the quote. While the show aired, we published the reveal in real-time so fans could see if they guessed correctly.
Based on what we saw fans connecting with during the season, we created a Video Mashup of all the wings flying and landing throughout the season, which we seeded out to fan influencers with large followings as a way to thank them for their support which they could in turn share with their followers to drive anticipation for the finale.
Partially driven by the campaign's highly designed and visually arresting creative, the second season of Dominion was a huge social media success. Facebook Likes saw an increase of 13.63% while Twitter followers increased by 35.37%. Overall, both audiences were immensely engaged with the content we shared. Creative featuring main characters including Michael, Gabriel, Alex, and Noma outperformed all other content week after week. A large passionate fan base was activated with live-tweeting each episode.
During pre-premiere on Facebook, catch-up link posts encouraging fans to binge-watch the first season of Dominion performed at top levels when coupled with custom embedded creative. In season, we saw static quote cards, episodic clips, tune-in content, and catch-up links perform at top levels.

The upcoming episode of the season is titled "Day of Wrath," according to TV Guide. It was reported that the episode will see Michael and Gabriel in a fight since Gabriel was the reason that the darkness was unleashed to destroy the city.
No matter what happens next season, this is FINALLY shaping up to be the post-Nemesis show most fans have probably been dreaming up since 2005 when Enterprise went off the air. For me, I would say since 2001. ;)
The Dominion League is an online, round-robin tournament. It was created by Stef in April 2014 and is currently before its 57th season. The official website is located at It is organized on the Dominion Discord and signups for the next season are open to new players of all skill levels.
Players are divided into groups of approximately 6 players. Groups are arranged in tiered divisions (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I). Participants play 6 games against every other player in their group, 3 going first and 3 going second, and keep a tally of the total points they score against all other players (1 for a win, 0.5 for a tie, 0 for a loss). The player in each group with the most points at the end of the season promotes to the next highest division, while the 5th and 6th place finishers demote to the next lowest division. Since season 3, the two players with the most points in the highest division, Division A, play an additional championship match of up to 6 games. The points they earn in the championship match are added to their point totals from the regular season to determine the season champion.
The League consists of 6-week seasons with a 2-week break between seasons. During a season all players are divided up in approximately 6-player divisions. At the end of the season the highest ranked players to the next level and in addition the second ranked players in tiers D, G, and I promote. Players who finish in fifth or sixth place in tiers demote. There is a single division in tier A; 2 divisions in tier B; 4 divisions in each of tiers C and D; 8 divisions in tier E; 16 divisions in each of tiers F and G; and up to 32 divisions in each of tiers H and I.
The total points, games played, win ratio, and championships won for all players in Division A. Statistics are from regular season games only and do not include games from championship matches. 68 different players played in the A division.
